Overcoming Limitations in the Healthcare System
July 26, 2022 • 55 mins
In this week’s episode, I sat down with Dr. Sandra Sobel, our first ever doctor on the show!
Dr. Sandra Indacochea Sobel is an Endocrinologist with additional board certifications in Lifestyle Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Sobel's clinical interests are in conditions of insulin resistance, including type one and type two diabetes management, obesity management, metabolic syndrome, and pre-diabetes. She is passionate about women's health, including the management of diabetes during pregnancy, PCOS, and menopause.
Dr. Sobel is also the CEO of Summon Health, a direct endocrine clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, focused on personalized and comprehensive medical delivery of metabolic health conditions. Dr. Sobel founded Summon Health after recognizing the consistent need to spend more time with patients during visits to not only review labs and prescribe medicines, but to cover important and personalized lifestyle interventions for maximizing health.
In this episode we discuss…
The main challenges that Dr. Sobel has witnessed with the diabetes healthcare model that directly prevent people with T1D from getting the outcomes they desire
Ways to overcome those healthcare challenges and potentially change the outcomes
The impact that nutrition, sleep, stress, and exercise all play in your blood sugar patterns
We also talk about PCOS, hormones, and so much more.
